What is workers compensation?

No-fault insurance
Workers compensation is a no-fault insurance that provides medical treatment and partial loss of wage compensation for
covered workers whose injury or illness arose out of and in the course of employment. In return for providing established
benefits, workers compensation laws protect employers from liability lawsuits.
Not all injuries at work are covered
There may be instances in which you are injured during work hours at your work site where you may not be entitled to receive
benefits: if another person injures you for personal reasons not related to your job; if you injure yourself intentionally; if your
injury occurs during horseplay; or if your injury occurs during a voluntary activity outside the scope of your job.
