Claims Registration Unit
The Claims Registration Unit records new claims and answers general questions regarding the claims process.
Claims Examiner Units
There are five Claims Examiner Units that oversee all activities that take place on a claim. The claims examiners pay
benefits, corresponding with all parties involved in a claim, and coordinate efforts to return the injured employee to work as soon as
possible.
Nurse Case Management Unit
The Nurse Case Management Unit assists the claims examiner, the injured worker, and the employer in coordinating the
medical activities on seriously injured workers.
Investigation Unit
The Investigation Unit conducts personal and telephone interviews to determine if an injury is compensable. It also
investigates claims for subrogation (third-party) recovery.
Subrogation Unit
The Subrogation Unit seeks to recover reimbursements from the third party if someone other than the employer or the worker
contributed to or caused an accident .
Medical Cost Containment Unit
The Medical Cost Containment Unit reviews bills from hospitals and medical providers for accuracy and to ensure that a provider's
charges do not exceed the maximum amounts allowed by the Industrial Commission for any given treatment or service.
