Applicant Information & Notices

Thank you for your interest in employment with SIF, Idaho Workers’ Compensation (SIF). This document contains important information about our hiring process, your rights as an applicant, and the policies that apply when you apply for employment. We encourage you to review each section before submitting your application.

Reasonable Accommodations

SIF is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities throughout the application, interview, and employment process.

If you need an accommodation at any stage of the process, please contact Human Resources at hr@idahosif.org. We will work with you to provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.

Equal Employment Opportunity Policy

We are committed to providing equal employment opportunity and maintaining a workplace free of unlawful discrimination. SIF is also committed to providing opportunity based upon individual merit. It is the policy of SIF to ensure that all aspects of the employment process are free from discrimination and that all persons are afforded equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 and older), disability, genetic information, military status, and any other legally protected grounds in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Our hiring policy is simple:

We follow the law!

We hire lawful workers only – U.S. citizens or nationals and non-citizens with valid work authorization – without discrimination. Federal immigration law requires all employers to verify both the identity and employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States.

In its efforts to meet the law’s requirements, SIF is participating in the E-Verify program operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in partnership with the Social Security Administration (SSA). E-Verify implements the legal requirement in Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) by allowing any U.S. employer to verify the employment eligibility of its newly hired employees. Our participation in the E-Verify program does not exempt us from the obligation to complete a Form I-9 for everyone we hire.

For additional information on the verification program contact the:

Job Applicant Privacy Notice

SIF collects and utilizes applicants’ personal data as part of our recruitment process. We are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use this information.

This notice sets out how we collect, use, retain, and disclose the personal data of our job applicants.

What information does SIF collect and how?

SIF collects a range of information about you. This includes:

  • your name, address, and contact details, including email address and primary telephone number;
  • details of your qualifications, skills, experience, employment history and other information relevant to your application;
  • information about your entitlement to work in the United States.

We may collect this information in a variety of ways. For example, data might be contained in our online application system, cover letters or resumes you provide, or through interviews or other forms of assessment, including online tests.

We may also collect personal data about you from your professional references and will inform you prior to doing so.

Data will be stored in a range of different places, including SIF’s HR management platform and other electronic systems.

Why does SIF process personal data?

SIF has a legitimate interest in processing personal data during the recruitment process and for keeping records of the process. Processing data from job applicants allows us to manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm an applicant's suitability for employment, and decide to whom to offer a job. We may also need to process data from job applicants to respond to and defend against legal claims.

We may process information about whether applicants are disabled so we can make reasonable accommodations for candidates who have a disability. We process such information to carry out our obligations and exercise specific rights in relation to employment.

We will not use your data for any purpose other than the recruitment process of which you are a part.

Who has access to applicant data?

Your information may be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy, and IT staff, if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.

We will not share your data with third parties unless your application for employment is successful and a conditional offer of employment is made. We will then share your data with former employers to obtain references and employment background check providers to obtain necessary background checks.

How does SIF protect applicant data?

SIF takes the security of your data seriously. We have internal policies and controls in place to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused, or disclosed, and is not accessed except by our personnel in the proper performance of their duties.

For how long does SIF keep applicant data?

If your application for employment is unsuccessful, we will hold your data on file for two years. At the end of that period, your data is deleted or destroyed (unless we need to retain it for longer to exercise or defend any legal claims).

If your employment application is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment.

What if you do not provide personal data?

You are under no obligation to provide SIF with data during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, we may not be able to process your application properly or at all.
